Who we are

Discover Your IKIGAI is a women’s wellbeing events community led by Lynsey Irving in Edgworth, Bolton and the Ribble Valley. Discover Your IKIGAI is responsible for the personal information described in this notice.

For any privacy question, email ikigaiwellnessuk@gmail.com.

Information we collect

We may collect information that you choose to give us, including:

  • your name and email address when you ask to hear about future gatherings
  • your contact details and anything you include when you email us
  • booking, attendance or accessibility information when you register for an event
  • your communication preferences, including if you ask us not to contact you

Please only share health or accessibility information that is genuinely needed to help you take part safely and comfortably.

Mailing list and event updates

If you ask to join the mailing list, we use your name and email address to send information about Discover Your IKIGAI gatherings and closely related community news. We rely on your consent for these emails.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe option in an email or by contacting us. Asking to unsubscribe will not affect anything we did before you withdrew consent.

We do not sell personal information or share mailing list details with other businesses for their own marketing.

How and why we use information

  • to respond when you contact us
  • to manage event enquiries, bookings and attendance
  • to send updates you have asked to receive
  • to make reasonable arrangements for accessibility or wellbeing needs
  • to keep the website secure and understand technical problems
  • to meet legal, safeguarding and accounting responsibilities

Depending on the situation, we use consent, our legitimate interests in running safe and welcoming events, steps connected with an event booking, or a legal obligation as our lawful basis.

Who may process information

We only share information where it is needed. This may include trusted providers that help us with website hosting, email, event bookings and administration. They may only use information to provide those services.

The website is hosted by Netlify. Email is currently handled through Google. If you follow a link to another organisation, such as Instagram, Google Maps, WILD & WILD or an event booking platform, that organisation’s own privacy notice applies.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it or where it is necessary to protect someone’s vital interests.

How long we keep information

Mailing list information is kept until you unsubscribe, the mailing list closes or the information is no longer needed. Enquiries are kept only for as long as needed to respond and maintain appropriate records. Booking and financial records may be kept for longer where tax, insurance or legal rules require it.

We review the information we hold and delete or anonymise it when it is no longer needed.

Cookies and local storage

This website does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. It stores one preference on your device if you switch the background sound on or off, so the site can remember your choice. This preference does not identify you and can be removed by clearing this website’s stored data in your browser.

Our hosting provider may create essential technical logs to deliver and secure the website. The site also loads fonts from Google and one venue image from Wix, so those providers may receive technical information such as your internet address and browser details when those resources load.

If non essential analytics or advertising technology is added later, we will update this notice and ask for consent before it is used.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to ask for a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or receive it in a portable format. You can also withdraw consent for future marketing at any time.

Contact ikigaiwellnessuk@gmail.com to exercise a right. We may need to confirm your identity before responding.

If you are unhappy with how we use your information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Changes to this notice

We will update this page when our services or use of personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
